Ducati 250 Widecase Race Bike




History

The bike was last raced by the late David Swallow with many top 3 finishes back in 2008.
It has been totally brought back to as new condition after a methodical restoration in the last 12 months by the original owner & is presently located in Lancashire.
It is only being put up for sale due to a change in racing plans by the owner.

Chassis Specification.

The frame has been stripped & re powder coated by Triple S, after the swinging arm bushes had been replaced.
A taper roller conversion to the head stock has also been added.
It is now fitted with as new T.Z. front forks.
The front brake is now period new A.P. Racing, comprising of a 2 piston calliper (CP 2195) A.P. Slotted disc operated by a new period Master Cylinder (CP 2215 )
New Amal levers are complimented by Tommaselli adjustable clip ons
The front & rear rims are Original Borrani with stainless steel spokes.
The rear brake is an as new Spanish Ducati item..

Newly painted fuel tank, seat, rear splash guard & front mudguard compliment the frames powder coating colour.
New custom made Hagon dampers & springs have also been fitted.
A new 12v Yuasa battery/ignition switch plus new Scitsu Tacho have also been fitted.

Engine/transmission.

The engine has been stripped & blueprinted, all engine bearings replaced including a new big end bearing & crankpin plus balancing.
A BORGO piston giving a C.R. of approx. 10.2- 1 obtained.
Con Rod is of Ducati manufacture then polished & shot peened.

A Newman profile race cam is fitted, lubricated by an external oil feed.
The primary crankcase is fitted with a support plate.
A new inlet manifold married to a fully ported Twin Plug cylinder head is also fitted.
The head itself has been crack tested & is in excellent condition.
The gear selection box has been overhauled with new parts where necessary.
A new uprated clutch has been also fitted.
Induction is via a new 34mm Mikuni VM Round slide Carb
Exhaust is via a modified upswept Swarbrick system
